Ernest “Wayne” Gamble, Sr. of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on July 16, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Wayne was born on May 9, 1944, in Bridgeport, Al., in the cabin which is now located in Stevenson City Park. He was a lifelong drywall subcontractor and jack of all trades.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Mary Elizabeth, Jimmy, Roy, Ronnie, John and William Gamble.

Survivors include the love of his life, his devoted wife of 60 years, Brenda Sue Gamble; sons, Ernie (Sandy), Darrell and Jason; grandchildren, Jake, Garrett, Tyler, Ashley, Austin, Lucas and Christian; sisters, Naomi Brooks (Sonny) and Sue Parrish.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 19, at 12 p.m. with Pastor James Dunn of Lifegate Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
